Sunday Morning Pantry Reset With 5 of My Staples Currently on Rotation

Sunday morning means one thing in our house — and a fresh rotation of toddler snacks.

Target.

I know, I know — I could automate this. I could set up a subscription, schedule a delivery, have everything show up at my door without ever leaving the house in my coffee-stained sweatshirt. And yet, every Sunday morning, I am loading two kids worth of chaotic energy into the car and heading to Target anyway.

There is something genuinely soothing about this particular errand. Getting up early, getting my coffee, walking those big red aisles while the store is still relatively quiet and the day hasn’t fully started yet. It’s one of the few things on my list that I actually look forward to. I’m not explaining it further. Some things you just don’t question.

Our Sunday Toddler Snacks Routine — Because Yes, There Is One

We have a system and we do not deviate from it.

First stop: Starbucks inside Target. Yes, I am aware this is a money trap strategically placed to separate me from my dollars before I’ve even touched a shopping cart. Yes, I do it every single time. It is part of the ritual and I have accepted this about myself.

Second stop: the baby aisle. Diapers, wipes, the essentials. Somewhere between the diapers and the wipes, my kids will spot a Hot Wheel and look at me with that specific expression that I have no defense against. I buy the Hot Wheel. It buys me 30 uninterrupted minutes of shopping. This is called investing.

Third stop — and this is where we really thrive — the snack aisle, where the toddler snacks rotation for the week gets decided.

A Quick Disclaimer Before We Get Into It

This list is coming from an imperfect mom who is currently optimizing for happiness over organic certifications. Some weeks we do great. Some weeks the snack bag has three different kinds of puffs in it and a fruit pouch that expired last Tuesday. We are doing our best and our best looks different every week. No judgment here, from me or from you.

With that established — here are the five toddler snacks currently on rotation in our household, sweet to salty.

Toddler snacks from Target laid out for a Sunday pantry reset

01. Beech-Nut Hidden Veggies Fruit Bites

My kids are fully convinced these are candy. And honestly? I am not correcting them.

The Beech-Nut Hidden Veggies Fruit Bites are exactly what they sound like — little fruit bites with vegetables sneaked in. Blueberry, apple, quinoa. My kids inhale them without a single question asked. As a mom who has tried approximately every vegetable preparation technique known to humanity with mixed success, I will take a win wherever I can find one.

These are a permanent fixture in our toddler snacks rotation and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

02. Freeze Dried Strawberries

Lightweight, portable, genuinely loved by both kids every single time — the Good & Gather Freeze Dried Strawberries are a staple I reach for constantly. I love them for packing in the diaper bag because they take up almost no space and survive the chaos of being at the bottom of a bag for three hours without becoming a disaster.

I also use them for baking when I’m feeling ambitious, which is about twice a year but still.

One heads up: those freeze dried strawberries will absolutely turn your toddler’s fingers a very enthusiastic shade of red. A baby wipe handles it. Just know it’s coming.

03. GoGo Squeez YogurtZ

Shop at Target

I’ll be honest with you about this one: these are in the cart because my kids love them. That’s the whole reason. Is there calcium in there? Sure. Do my kids get their calcium from milk? Also yes. Am I buying these for the nutritional value? Not primarily.

The GoGo Squeez YogurtZ are a kid favorite and sometimes that is the entire criteria for making the toddler snacks rotation. They squeeze it, they’re happy, we move on. That’s the review.

04. Good & Gather Organic White Cheddar Baked Puffs

These are my car ride snack of choice and they have earned that title.

The Good & Gather Organic White Cheddar Baked Puffs are easy for tiny fingers to grab, they don’t require any prep or containers, and they keep kids occupied for a meaningful stretch of time in the backseat. Can they be a little messy? Yes. Is there sometimes a trail of puff remnants in the car seat that I discover three weeks later? Also yes. Worth it.

05. Good & Gather Organic Mini Peanut Butter Sandwich Crackers

Okay, this one might be the hot take on my toddler snacks list, so let me explain.

My youngest has a mild peanut allergy. And rather than avoiding peanuts entirely, we’ve made a conscious decision — under our pediatrician’s guidance — to keep gentle, supervised exposure going. The Good & Gather Organic Mini Peanut Butter Sandwich Crackers are part of that approach.

This isn’t just a mom instinct — the science actually backs it up. According to Dr. Scott Sicherer, Director of the Elliot and Roslyn Jaffe Food Allergy Institute at Mount Sinai, “the current understanding is that exposing young children to peanut protein may reduce the likelihood that they develop peanut allergies as they grow up,” Mount Sinai and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases issued guidelines recommending early introduction of peanut-containing foods to infants back in 2017. You can read the full article from Mount Sinai here.

I want to be clear: this is our specific situation, with our specific child, with our pediatrician in the loop. Every kid is different and every allergy situation is different. Please always consult your doctor before making any decisions around food allergies. But for us, these little crackers are part of a very intentional routine and they happen to also be delicious, so everybody wins.

That’s a Wrap

Five toddler snacks, one very full cart, approximately one Hot Wheel, and two Starbucks drinks later — that’s our Sunday morning pantry reset in a nutshell.

If you’ve got a snack that’s currently saving your life, tell me in the comments. I am always taking applications for the rotation and I’m particularly interested in anything that doesn’t immediately disintegrate into dust on a car seat.

Wish us luck on short checkout lines and zero tantrums in the parking lot.
